Call for Workshop

The 9th IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things (iThings2016) invites you to submit workshop proposals for the conference.The ideal workshop proposal should focus on a specific area, be of current interest, and be able to attract a number of high-quality submissions. Proposals on specific new challenges, emerging topics guaranteed to generate significant interest in the community are highly encouraged. Any topics that are related to the theme of the Internet of Things are welcome.The relevant information is as follows.


Submission process

Each proposal should provide the following information:

  • Contact information, biography, and e-mail of workshop chair
  • Title of the workshop
  • Abstract of the workshop (150 to 200 words)
  • Expected number of participants
  • Organizing Committee

Call for Papers for the Invited Session on Intelligent Sensing and Data Computing

Intelligent sensing and data computing devote to study intelligent sensing theory and technology and data processing of sensing data. With the rapid development of the Internet of things, the massive sensing data with complex in structures, high dimensional, distributed, and heterogamous are growing rapidly. It brings new opportunities to data owner and challenges to data researchers. Four unique challenges are raised: (1) limited energy of sensor node VS unlimited sense tasks; (2) limited computing source of sensor node VS massive sensing data; (3) how to extract meaning information from massive and cluttered samples; (4) how to display meaningful results based on data analytics and so on.

Therefore, these challenges are distinguished and require new computational paradigm. How to sense the physical world and how to effectively compute the sensing data has become the cutting edge of research.

This Invited Session seeks to original research articles as well as review articles on Intelligent Sensing and Data Computing.

  • Data Theory and Technology (include analysis, capture, data curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, querying, updating and information privacy.)
  • Sensing Networking (sensing the physical world, information acquisition, data transmission and collection in WSN, ICN, SDN, VANET etc.)
  • Intelligent Computing (data-intensive computing techniques, parallel and distributed computational techniques, computational complexity theory)
  • Data Fusion (image fusion, information fusion and cross-media fusion)
  • Compressive Sensing (sparse representation, measurement matrix optimization and recovery algorithm design in CS and DCS (Distributed Compressive Sensing))
